Local policies are the bread and butter of the effective politician. 

These are the policies that affect the street or the suburb the constituant lives in and to ignore these issues long enough you will loose support and be removed from office. Sometimes a person belonging to a certain political party can ride the storm of indifference for many years – but be aware that every body ahs a breaking point and if an area that has been loyal to a political party for many years and they turn against your party it will be diffficult to regain that trust again.

Some matters that seem trivial to some are so increadiably important to the local consitutiant, so take their concerns very seiourky no amatter how trivial.
